This is long but worth reading. NHS material on morbid obesity and the planned path of action. There are a few comparisons of surgery, but here the authors could do with more research as the fabulous DS is not mentioned at all. Amazingly the Jejunoileal bypass is...and this is bad news as this procedure was so disastrous it is no longer performed in the US at all. I can only hope it is not done here in the UK.
This section kind of shows how out of date we are on the Obesity surgery front in the UK. Still, that said, this is only a small segment of a large and relevant assessment.
